Choose one of the figures from the second part of the course (Spinoza, Schelling, Nemo) and explain how their project responds to one of the central issue(s) discussed in the first part of the course.

For our final assignment, you are asked to write a 4-5 page paper where you articulate your response to the problem of evil relating to the issues and figures that we have covered in this course. Your paper should include the following components:

Choose one of the figures from the second part of the course (Spinoza, Schelling, Nemo) and explain how their project responds to one of the central issue(s) discussed in the first part of the course (anthropocentrism, theodicy, the theist’s dilemma, being and goodness, etc.)

Do you think their argument is persuasive? Why or why not? Be specific in your response and provide citations from the text(s) to support your answer.

Of all the thinkers we have read, who do you think provides the most comprehensive account of evil and why?

Consider philosophical, theological, moral, existential dimensions in your answer. Do the figure(s) you have selected account for these different aspects of the problem, or do they handle some aspects better than others?
