How effective is drug prevention programs with youth age 12 to 18 years old in comparision to students who do not participate in drug prevention programs.
Begin with your introduction, including revisions from instructor comments or other improvements.
Use at least 12 academic journal articles that report primary data from the library that are relevant to your problem. Research articles describe a completed research project that are found in scholarly journals and each should contain a methods section.
NOTE: You will almost certainly have to choose more than 12 articles in order to end up with 12 that are directly relevant to your topic.
Synthesize the articles by major theme related to the problem you are exploring. Information drawn from each article should be summarized in your own words. Risk factors associated with the problem may be identified and discussed; possible interventions need to be identified and discussed.
In the literature review portion, you are summarizing for the reader the existing knowledge on the topic. Use sub headings for key issues or themes. Organizing by themes that are present in the literature and reporting them together help the reader understand the take aways from the literature.
The literature review should NOT be an annotated bibliography (where each paper is listed one by one and summarized by main aspects; you have already done something like this in your literature table). Rather, you will be synthesizing all of the information you have read.
The review should include a critical analysis of the limitations of previous research (as a summary, not necessarily for each article), as well as some discussion of the gaps in current knowledge about this topic.
Articles should be cited using APA 7th edition format. Direct quotes should be very limited and only used when it would be difficult to cite a definition/law/etc. without using the exact words. If you cannot synthesize the text of the article using your own words, you likely do not understand the issue in sufficient depth to write about it.
Should be at least 4 pages in length (in addition to the 1-2 page introduction/problem statement).
