Biotechnology
Your exposure to biotechnology in this course has come through mostly laboratory experiments and the TED talk discussions.
This is a large chapter, so the basic information be able to understand is limited to:
1. Definitions of restriction enzymes, recombinant DNA
2. Explain how DNA gel electrophoresis works, DNA fingerprinting
3. What are different uses of biotechnology?
4. Give three examples of genetically engineered organisms and why they were created.
5. Explain what techniques might be used in genetic engineering and what types of organisms are genetically engineered and why they have been created.
6. Is genetic engineering a helpful technique? Why or why not?
7. Are there ethical concerns with genetic engineering? Explain.
