Organizing the Magazine Analysis
The magazine analysis has a lot in common with an argumentative essay.
Introduction
Introduce magazine and make your claim about the audience and purpose of the magazine.
Body paragraphs
Have a few paragraphs supporting your claim. If your claim says your magazine’s purpose is to inform, talk about some of the articles in the essay that are clearly there to inform.
Make sure you connect your points back to your claim.
Sum up your information—you could restate your claim and your main reasons.
Works Cited page
At least five articles (or advertisements, or other features from the magazine) alphabetized.

Author’s last name, first name. “Article title.” Magazine Name, date, pages.
Citing an online magazine article using MLA style:
Author’s last name, first name. “Article title.” Magazine Name, date on web, pages (if any), URL. Date.
