Guidelines READ CAREFULLY:

You are required to submit your presentation and final assignment piece via Aula HandIn and you must include the following:

your working file, saved as a Photoshop (.psd) file with layers (flattened files will not be accepted).
 the web sized JPEG, with a 1200px long edge and and RGB colour profile.

 the CMYK pdf with a 3mm bleed all around.

 your narrated PowerPoint presentation 
a list of references, in the APA referencing style, that must include a reference for each of the images you have used in your final poster/book cover. This should be the last slide(s) of your presentation. You can find information on how to reference on Aula and in your Module Guide.

You must credit any influences, current practice or other sources utilised in the development of your work (adhering to copyright restrictions), using the APA referencing system.


This means you may not use any of the original images from the film/book in questions.
You must look for images on royalty-free websites. You can a list of such websites on Aula.


All students must submit their Assignment via Aula HandIn. You can compress your portfolio into one named zip file to upload or upload all files individually.


We do not accept submissions via links to any platforms (such as OneDrive).


Make sure you upload your work early and do not leave it until the last minute to avoid any delays due to technical issues.


FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT

You will be asked to upload at least one draft while working towards your final assignment. This is to be uploaded to Aula and will ensure you obtain feedback in preparation for your submission. Date to be confirmed by your module tutor.


You will also be asked to upload work developed while in class every week. This will allow your tutors to identify areas where you may need help improving.

Additional Information

The focus of this module is on building skills and knowledge using a professional image editing package. Intro to Adobe Photoshop: Visual Communication is designed to introduce students to the software and will cover the standard features.

Adobe PhotoshopTM is the industry standard image manipulation application for graphic arts and multimedia. Photoshop also integrates with other packages within Adobe’s Creative


SuiteTM.
The module covers knowledge of basic design elements and image composition, as well as Photoshop’s standard features, including colour correction, using adjustment layers & layer masks and preparing & outputting images for a range of media.

The module will also give the student an understanding of the commercial context in which Adobe PhotoshopTM is utilised, and an awareness of contemporary practices and standards.
