Statement of the illegalization of rap music
Write a single paragraph (minimum 100 / maximum 150 words) in response to the following question:
You are a government representative tasked with making the announcement that your government has decided to make a certain form of music, or the music of a particular artist or musical group, illegal. Which form of music/artist/band is it? List three reasons why this form of music, artist, or group has been illegalized. Do not rant — this is a formal academic writing exercise. Do not use secondary sources – all the information in the paragraph should be your own ideas.
Follow academic writing paragraph structure: topic sentence (state the paragraphs controlling idea / supporting sentences / concluding sentence (summarize main supporting points / restate main point)
Paragraph must have unity (one main idea only) and coherence (sentences progress in smooth and logical sequences — see video tutorial on transitions)
Response must be double-spaced and use Times New Roman 12-point font. Indent, write out one or two-digit numbers, and use the present tense whenever it is grammatically possible to do so. Do not use the first-person pronoun “I” or the second-person pronoun “you.” Include a word count at the end of the paragraph.
