Biologically Important Molecules Lab Report
Biomolecule lab Assignment Reporting in Science
Student Learning Outcome(s) for Assignment
Know the tests used to detect the categories of biomolecules.
Evaluate test data in identifying an unknow substance.
Interpreting results to identify unknow sample.
Clearly present findings in standard written science reporting format (APA).
Ten percent of your lab grade is based on a written lab report/ science reach paper. You are to write a lab report based on work you did in the two labs on biologically important molecules, weeks 4 and 5. In these two labs, you learned about and performed tests that allowed you to detect the several types of biomolecules- Starches. Lipids, proteins and reducing sugars. During these labs you also tested a sample the composition of which you did not know, referred to as the unknown. The goal of the lab exercise was to learn the types of biomolecules, test is used to identify their presence, and determine what substances are in the unknow sample based on the results of all the tests you conducted on this sample.
Lab Report Context
You are to write a report using the standard format of a scientific paper ( APA format) given in your lab manual in the section titled REPORTING IN SCIENCE- Lab report in week 4.
Your paper must have the following parts- Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion and or conclusion, and reference.
