Wealth and Income
Choose ONE Reading from either the chapter on Wealth and Income Inequality OR the chapter on Poverty.
Be specific about the title of the reading and the authors to clarify.
Briefly summarize the article. Teach us the basics (again, pretend that none of us has read the reading before).
Pick one or two of the basics to analyze – apply information from the other readings or class materials.
Your analysis must include evidence that you have read the article. You need to incorporate information from the reading itself to support, clarify, or further develop your discussion. Use direct quotes or (even better) paraphrase –just be sure to cite (author, editors, page #) directly after the quote or paraphrase (not simply at the bottom of your finished analysis).
Each analysis should be at least 250 words.
Reply to each others’ posts with questions or comments to promote as much of a dialogue with each other as this online format will allow us! Your thoughtful replies will count towards your participation grade that is tallied at the end of the semester.
