Literature Review on the impact of broadband on economic growth
An economy that is based on knowledge is the key to the future of the international economy and is linked to the Internet.
Connectivity to the internet has already changed the lifestyles of people in developed nations by benefiting them in their economic and social welfare.
Planning and expansion of these benefits is key to boosting fiscal and social growth in Kurdistan while allowing the shift from an economy based on resources to one that is knowledge-based.
Out of the total population of 7 billion people, only four billion have access to the Internet whereas the remaining three billion remain unconnected due to their poor and disadvantaged nature.
For instance, in Iraq, by the end of 2017, only 12% of the people were connected (Chris, Strausani, 2014, Internet Word State, 2018).
