Homelessness and the aging population
A homeless individual refers to a person who lacks housing, including a person whose prime residence during the night is a supervised private or public facility that offers temporary living accommodations.
Homeless individuals may reside in a single room occupancy facilities, mission, abandoned vehicle, live on streets, or any other non-permanent or unstable situation. In most cases, when thinking about homelessness, elderly people are normal, forgotten.
Consequently, this has resulted in increased number of homelessness elderly people in the world. This population usually experiences diverse problems including increased poverty rate, increased mortality rate, and several other issues.
In order to provide a solution to this problem, several researchers have focused their attention on studying the problem of homelessness and thus, providing interventions to end this problem. This paper looks at some of the past studies regarding homelessness and the aging population.
