Emerging trend in technologies are traits of technologies that are deemed to have an ability to changing the way things are considered to be; the status quo. They are generally newly introduced technologies that sometimes incorporate old technologies.
They are relatively controversial and undeveloped in their potentiality to be applied in several activities such as 3D printing, gene therapy, and genetic diagnosis among others that can be dated back to early 90s. Uncertainty, ambiguity, relative fast growth, essential impact and coherence just to mention a few are major characteristics of emerging technologies.These technologies that are emerging incorporate technological convergence of several systems that arise from different source but are aimed at achieving a common goal.
They interact to form new efficiencies in their respective fields that include education matters, information systems and handling of data, nanotechnology, cognitive science, robots in factories and artificial intelligence applied by many government agencies. The latter represent developments within a field for competition basis. Degree of viability of emerging and converging technologiesdiffer across people.
