Sexual Mistreatment of Slaves

One of the cruelest hardships that the enslaved Americans went through was sexual abuse. The slaveholders, supervisors and the white women and men who dominated with authority over the slaves forced the slaves to submit sexual advances to their masters possibly for siring children who would produce the range of the wife of the master and from whom they can get estranged in the short run.

Masters forced the slaves that appeared to be robust and beautiful to pair with them so that they produce strong children that they could sell at a high price. For any slave who resisted, he or she was brutally punished and even killed
