The system education in the U.S is highly decentralized. Each state has the powers to make and implement its policies regarding education but within its jurisdiction.
It will be enabled as long as it does not violate the US or federal laws. The education policy in the US has constantly evolved and its goals and targets too due to continuing change in the society and culture. This has prompted the government to debate the issues repeatedly.
Earlier on, the goal of the education policy was mainly for religious reasons, today it has changed a lot, and education is seen as the vehicle to impart learning skills that will help an individual participate in the global economy.
