Compare and contrast the two characters Desdemona and Emilia from the play Othello.
In Othello, Emilia and Desdemona are comparable in their respect to their husbands; however they are remarkably different as for their drive comes from different areas.
Equally, Emilia and Desdemona show respect and honor to their husbands Iago and Othello the two women each counter to her husband’s command. Desdemona and Emilia’s connection is a sealed one.
Emilia is loyal to her mistress and devoted throughout the very ending. As for Desdemona, she is automatically dependent on Emilia’s good judgment as well as her understanding of men. Their association is roughly the child and mother, using Desdemona taking on the final character.
Though, it’s significant to consider Emilia’s divided loyalty. Her devotion and obedience toward husband act as a vital element in the collapse of her mistress.
This should be put into consideration in an afterward subsection when paying Emilia’s role as well as the character following horrible discovery she makes.
