During the early hours in a small town of Holcomb in Kansas four members of a prosperous family were savagely murdered by gun shots which were not far away from their faces. In the cold blood written by Truman Capote he tries to bring out the clear picture of the murder and its consequences.
The reasons behind the killing were not clear and there was also no apparent motive behind the crime. The local fbi investigator swore to keenly look into the matter and find out the meaningless crime at any cost. Capote took the initiative to hunt down the killers and he put so much effort to the point that according to himself it almost killed him and at some point it did.
Capote spent hours interviewing all the people who were involved in the murder case where he sat down with them and even developed personal relationship with them. He later found the perpetrators of the clutter family.
Dick Hickok and Perry smith were found to be the killers and were imprisoned and later transferred to the death row at the Kansas penitentiary. Dick and Perry had overheard about some money in the safe in herd Clutter’s home and planned to rob the family killing all of them leaving no evidence behind. (Wiener)
