The Squid and the Whale Movie Analysis
The Squid and the Whale movie is a 2005 American drama film that was written and directed by Noah Baumbach. Additionally, the film was produced by Wes Anderson in the year 2005.
Following the course materials, discussions and textbooks that we learnt throughout the semester, it was clear that the movie displays family relationships of middle to upper class families in New York.
In addition, the writer and director of the Squid and the Whale movie based the movie on his own experiences within his family. In other words, this paper focuses on analyzing the movie and the relationships depicted in it.
As stated earlier in the introduction, the drama film was written and directed by Noah Baumback. It narrates the semi-autobiographical story of two young boys in Brooklyn who tries to deal with the divorce of the parents in the 1986.
In addition, the movie can be considered as a fascinating portrayal of the problems that parents with narcissistic features can present in the struggle for independence of their children.
Examining the setting of the film, it is clear that the film was set in an upper middle class and opens at the nearby tennis club whereby Walter and Frank are conducting some lessons.
