Poverty as A Social Problem
In society today, problems that are widespread, wrong, and changeable are known as social issues. Poverty can be any severe social issue that is faced in a given society. According to Lohmann and Marx (2018), poverty affects families and individuals because it brings hardship that is also felt by the political class. Therefore, it affects the social stability and development that can pose a severe threat to human security. The main aim of this essay is to analyze poverty as a social problem.
Moreover, the paper will introduce the social issues and then describe how poverty fits sociology. In addition, it will also evaluate sociological theories that are applied to poverty as a social problem and how sociologists claim poverty in US society.
