The guidelines are: Economics IA Structure
• Make 750 words
• Article needs problem and solution – you need to be able to evaluate
• No Headings
• All articles from different sources
• All articles within 12 months of writing
• Only define problem and solution
Intro
• Address specifically what article is about and issues it addresses
• 3-4 lines
Problem
• Set the scene of the issue
• Define – contextual definition of Problem – not direct break for definition
• Explain – why the following graphs have curves where they are
• Illustrate – use specific graph, including axis titles
• Analyse – what the curves do to price, quantity, efficiency etc
Solution
• Define – contextual definition of solution – not direct break for definition
• Explain – why the following graphs have new curves where they are
• Illustrate – use specific graph, including axis titles
• Analyse – what the curves do to price, quantity, efficiency etc
Evaluation
• Point (pos or neg) – must be in article
• Counterpoint – doesn’t have to be in article
• Point with counterpoint, keep going, until you start with new point mentioned in article, if there is more
• 3-6 recommended
Conclusion
• Whether solution addresses problem
