The main aim of this study is to demonstrate a critical understanding of the nature and function of art psychotherapy within a school setting.
-While there is no prescribed structure to the paper, you should include the following:
-A critical description and analysis of the organisation or institution, along with its aims, philosophy and theoretical underpinnings
-Acknowledgement of the organisation’s governance procedures that are inclusive of service users and carers
-A critical description and analysis of the art psychotherapy service within this setting
(What are the aims and objectives of the art psychotherapy service? What is the role of art psychotherapy within the broader context? What criteria are used for referrals? Is there any assessment procedure for art psychotherapy? Why are people taken on for art psychotherapy rather than another treatment?)
-A critical understanding of the model of art psychotherapy used in relation to the client group
(Does the art psychotherapy service have a distinct theoretical base? How does this model of art psychotherapy meet the particular therapeutic needs of the client group you have been working work with?)
-An understanding of the role and function of supervision within the placement
Clinical material from a group or individual, once consent has been obtained to do so. While you can look at a particular case study (individual or group), you must include the wider setting and clearly contextualise the client and model of art psychotherapy within the organisation.
-Clear and critical links between theory and practice.
-Demonstrate non-discriminatory practise and maintain confidentiality at all times
