How to assemble and disessmble a M240B machine gun

When issued with a cleared M240B machine gun, a soldier should check that they have a tripod mounted assembly M122A1 joined with 7.62 mm ammo. Also, one needs a tiny arms case that contains items such as lubricants, a cleaner and a preservative, lubricating oil for arctic weather, a cleaner of the rifle bore, pipe cleaners, rags, bore brushes, cleaning, small-arms swabs as well as an M240B reamer and scraper.

The standards before using the weapon require that the parts of the machine gun are properly cleaned and lubricated. All the parts should be inspected for purposes of serviceability, and if there are any unserviceable parts, they should be maintained. When the weapon is correctly assembled, the gun becomes operational (Hayden 15).
