Assignment Name: Research Task 1: Defining Action Research and Determining a Topic
Instructions: DIRECTLY FROM THE PROFESSOR
You probably have a lot of ideas already based on the educational environment and the “reconnaissance” you have applied to your own educational setting. The educator questioning their current educational environment to find practical and useful answers to important questions is a good way to get started in narrowing down to a formal research question. Your job for this assignment:
1. Define Action Research as it applies to teaching 10th grade U.S. History to a group of students that come from all different classes, availability to and some students having nothing available as resources due to income levels such as having or not having access to the internet and latest technologies such as computers.
2. Find and clarify a starting point – describe how you clarify your topic of “ With many students from differing classes of life/lives how do teachers get the students taught equally when certain students have all available resources after school while many do not?”
3. Explain/write about the viable action research topic of “With many students from differing classes of life/lives how do teachers get the students taught equally when certain students have all available resources after school while many do not?”that you can work with during the course.
4. Pose the question: With many students from differing classes of life/lives how do teachers get the students taught equally when certain students have all available resources after school while many do not?”
