Using the information provided in the readings, create a summary of the steps of qualitative data analysis. Arrange your summary by the steps (data collection methods, data preparation methods, coding, developing description and themes, validation techniques [bracketing, triangulation, member checking, audit]).
Try to create a summary that will be a useful tool for you in the future, especially as it applies to your research study. In a 4 page paper, include the following elements in your summary for each step:
• An example application (use a peer-reviewed journal article or provide your own example).
• A resource (book, journal article, or website) that you think is the best reference for each qualitative analysis step (think about what is useful to you in the future). Explain your reasoning. If you have alternative resources, include them as well.
• If appropriate, how might you use the steps in your own research?
