discuss how the program keeps parents engaged to expand access and opportunity for Latino students he Texas Board of Education gave final approval to a new course called Ethnic Studies: Mexican American Studies.

It is the first ethnic studies course approved by the Texas board and is believed to be the first Mexican American Studies course approved by any State Board of Education.

Advocates for Ethnic Studies believe it will help students understand their history and the roles they can play in their future potential.

To ensure it gained approval much work had to be done by policy, education, and community leaders. Join us as the panel discusses the work to create this course, its implementation, and why ethnic studies is critical in the educational landscape for Latinos.
