Importance of calibrating the spectrophotometer
Calibration is therefore important since it are used to determine the accuracy of the result and also check if there are issues with the spectrophotometer.
When you mostly calibrate the photometer, and you find your machine off frequently, then it means there is something wrong. Calibration can be affected by issues like dirty windows, which makes the results less reliable.
When calibrating the spectrophotometer, there are a lot of advantages one is putting in since one can easily tell the exact part that is damaged if there is one and repair it as the need arises.
As the calibration has its primary purpose of detecting the accuracy of the result, the user of the spectrophotometer should therefore have no varying results. In case they vary, that means there is a serious problem in the spectrophotometer (Barnes,1998).
Why is beer lamberts law being straight line through the origin?
Beer lamberts law is often described as a linear line assigns through the origin and is, therefore, the relationship between the concentration and absorption.
When the deviations occur, this can only be as a result of the chemical and experimental factors. The outcome of the results from the beer lambert law is direct proportional, and therefore the linearity is kept. The linearity of the graph is also affected by the factors such as the vibrations.
