Determine the salient developmental and cultural factors that are identified and need to be considered in Susan’s case. Hypothesize how Susan’s mother’s cultural beliefs might have contributed to her response, and how a therapist or case manager might address those beliefs.
Identify if Susan meets the criteria for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Acute Stress Disorder or Adjustment Disorder. It is possible that she may not meet the criteria for any disorder. Students will provide a detailed rationale for their selection and/or position regarding Susan’s condition.
Describe the risks and benefits of mandated reporting in the Case of Susan. Include any concern that may arise from your perspective and feel free to incorporate the mandated reporting laws from your state of residence
