The importance of language sensitivity
Remember that your essay must have a thesis. That could be about the importance of free speech rights, or the importance of language sensitivity, or the balance between language sensitivity and free speech.
Once you have your general idea, you must come up with a particular situation to illustrate or explain it. Think about a situation similar to the ones we have been discussing.
The situation could be about words or phrases which may superficially mean the same, but, for one reason or another, one of which might not be appropriate.
The situation could also involve a controversy such as trigger warning or safe space for the college classroom or the banning of viewpoints which might be considered as offensive or in other ways unacceptable for a college campus environment.
As much as possible, involve your personal experience or personal observation so that you will have a lot of details for your discussion.
