The i-Human platform is an opportunity for you to interact with a simulated patient and gather data. When working in i-Human, practice as if this were a real patient.
For example, the platform allows you to ask many questions when taking a history. In real life, you will likely be limited in time. Practice setting yourself a time limit and work on being efficient in your clinical interview.
If you require technical support with the i-Human platform, use the iHuman Help Center to contact i-Human Technical Support directly. Technical support includes a malfunction of the platform; they will not be able to help with issues involving content!

Summary of simulation
Simulation Objectives:
1) Identify potential diagnosis based on provided simulated health history
2) Discuss the relative physical exam assessment needed in relation to the simulated health history provided
3) Formulate and discuss differential diagnosis considerations based on information provided in the simulated health history and physical exam findings.
4) Develop and explain the diagnostic workup necessary for the established list of differential diagnosis.
5) Create a comprehensive SOAP note
Clinical Objectives:
• Elicit a focused history to pertinent to the evaluation of alcohol and substance use.
• Perform the physical-exam components pertinent to the evaluation of alcohol use and withdrawal.
• Select the appropriate laboratory tests for evaluation of alcohol-use disorders.
• Describe the diagnostic criteria for alcohol-use disorders and withdrawal.
• List the risk factors for alcohol use disorders.
• Construct a differential diagnosis for alcohol withdrawal.
• Distinguish alcohol-use disorders and their sequelae from other psychiatric and medical disorders that my mimic alcohol use and/or withdrawal.
• Describe commonly used psychotherapy modalities and the role of psychopharmacology in the treatment of alcohol use disorders.

Please list 3-5 diagnoses you are considering at this time
Physical Exam
What regions of the physical examination are important in this patient and why?
Differential considerations
List your 3-5 differential consideration in order of importance/likelihood and explain your rationale for supporting or discounting this diagnosis based on the Subjective and Objective Data presented.
Diagnostic consideration
List your next steps in your diagnostic workup with rationales
Student should submit the above information along with the a comprehensive SOAP note on the case presented.
The SOAP notes should include a final diagnosis as well as at least 3 differentials and rationales for diagnosis chosen and differentials included. The plan of the SOAP note should be complete for the diagnosis chosen as well as for each differential listed, in case that was the final diagnosis.
