Outline a proposal / innovation which focuses on an area of practice within your specific field of nursing that has the potential to be improved. The proposal must be for the benefit of patients / service-users.
500 words (plus or minus 10%)
You must include:
Outline of your proposal / innovation (200 words)
• Contextualise the choice & clearly define the focus of the project proposal that has been generated and informed from your area of practice.
• For example, what is the proposed project and where are you could the project be implemented?
Aims / SMART Objectives (50 words)
• The project aim should be clear and precise and inform the marker about the main intention of the project.
• The objectives should be more specific and provide the marker with an insight into what your project sets out to achieve.
• Try to ensure the objectives are, Specific, Manageable, Achievable, Realistic and Time scaled (SMART).
Rationale (200 words)
• Create a sound and coherent argument for an appropriately selected work-based project.
• The rationale should provide an explanation as to why you have chosen to focus your project on a particular area of practice within your own field of nursing.
• For example, what has caused you to identify this area of practice?
• The rationale provides the opportunity to put your argument forward to support the proposed project.
Potential / Intended Outcome (50 words)
• How will your project proposal/innovation meet the NHS Outcomes Framework?
Reference List (not included in the word count)
• Include evidence from academic and professional sources to support your work.
• Follow the HSK guidance for citations and references.
