Statement of Problem and Research Questions
The research problem is to examine the critical areas of conflicts of interest in foreign investment between the host country and foreign investors.
They include monopolistic tendencies, tax policies, and exploitation of labor. The strategies of mitigating the conflicts of interest between the Saudi government and foreign companies are essential components of the research problem.
The research questions are appropriately selected to guide researchers on the areas that are critical in understanding conflicts of interests in FDI between investors and host countries.
The questions point out Saudi Arabia as the country of interest in the study. Furthermore, they encompass a recommendation on strategies that can be used to prevent conflicts of interests.
The discussion of the highlighted items will be in understanding the primary objective of the research. The research questions are selected based on previous readings by the researcher and inadequate information from Saudi literature concerning the subject. The researcher has the goal of answering the following research questions:
1. How does the conflict of interests between foreign investors and Saudi Arabia occur in the area of monopolistic tendencies, tax policies, and exploitation of employees?
2. What are the strategies concerning government policies that should be taken to avoid conflicts of interests?
3. Is there any possibility of creating a balance of benefits and interests to the government and foreign investors?
