1- List the chapter titles AND each of the section headings, beginning with the Introduction (basically an outline of the book). For each chapter and section, write 1-2 sentences about what the author SAYS in the section (this is a summary that includes details), and ONE SENTENCE about what the section DOES (how does that placement of that information advance the argument?). You may opt to use different colors to visually separate the says from the does.
2- What is Saethre’s theoretical orientation (political economy, political ecology, cultural interpretive, biocultural)? Explain your rationale, and keep in mind that he may be using more than one.
