In this assignment, you will focus on the development of phase and subject specific pedagogy through individual and collaborative reflection, evaluation and critique.
Through the Teach First delivered content, you will gain a critical insight into working collaboratively as a means of developing your subject and phase specific pedagogy and use this knowledge to refine and develop your teaching further.
You will reflect on how you can develop your own powers of collaboration and use these to strengthen your pedagogical practice, whilst also developing others in your group.
You will consider the meaning of vision and high expectations and how to use these to guide your work.

Language and Literacy
• well-researched links between reading and literacy in English
• reading in MFL : neglected skill
• reading of varied texts (poetry, literature, song etc) now important in NC, still overlooked
• literacy across the curriculum is important (also for learners with EAL)
• this also impacts on written literacy (and oracy)
• creating independent writers of MFL; criticality in developing effective use of strategies (scaffolding, writing frames etc)
• writing varied texts (not just ‘now go home and write a paragraph’)
• group writing and reading
