Research paper 1 should be based on modules attached below and should be oriented around addressing the following questions:
• Explain the differences between a standardized and localized strategy. Which are the advantages and the disadvantages of each one?
• What is the role of the cultural pattern in a society? How these affect the consumption?
• How market research must proceed when an enterprise enters a new international market?
Paper Guidelines:
Typically, research papers should have a title, author name and affiliation, abstract, keywords, introduction, multiple sections of literature review and literature analysis, conclusion, and references. You may model your research paper after any good literature review based paper that might have appeared in a well-known scientific journal – such as journal of marketing or journal of consumer research.
You must include latest research articles to exhibit research and understanding of changing international markets.
The assessment of the assignments will be based on the quality of the content measured primarily in terms of its originality, rigor of analysis, and implications for theory and practice. The adoption of a standard presentation style (Preferably APA Style) is also compulsory.
Extent of literature review – 60 points
The topic is introduced, and groundwork is laid as to the direction of the article.
The summary goes from general ideas to specific conclusions. Transitions tie sections together, as well as adjacent paragraphs.
The appropriate content in consideration is covered in depth without being redundant. Significance to the course is unquestionable.
The author is able to make succinct and precise conclusions based on the review. Insights into the problem are appropriate. Conclusions and the application to international marketing are strongly supported in the review.
Originality of ideas presented – 20 points
Ideas borrowed from the literature should be cross analyzed and new findings should be made out of this process. Such cross analysis is also expected to identify gaps in the literature (meaning, the inability of the extant literature to answer some interesting questions related to the field). The paper should have proposals to improve theory or practice based on the literature review.
Writing quality – 20 points
Writing is crisp, clear, and succinct. The writer incorporates the active / passive voice when appropriate. No spelling, grammar, or punctuation errors are made.
Citations and the formatting of the paper in general did follow APA or another well accepted style, consistently.
