you are required to devise an exercise programme which reflects the needs and wants of an individual case study client. As part of this you will need to assess the health and fitness of the individual and use this analysis to devise exercise prescriptions which includes aspects of cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength, core and flexibility.
The plan must also take into consideration psychological aspects such as motivation and exercise adherence
Assessed intended learning outcomes
On successful completion of this assessment, you will be able to:
Knowledge and Understanding
• Assess the health and fitness of the individual and use this analysis to devise exercise prescriptions which reflect the needs and wants of that individual
• Devise and plan exercise sessions (prepare environment and participant, conduct in safe and effective manner) and programmes which meet the physical fitness requirements of the individual and take into consideration psychological aspects such as motivation and exercise adherence
• Recognise the value of exercise in the treatment and management of certain diseases / conditions, and prescribe exercise appropriate to individual pathologies.
