This is a application letter for BI Norwegian Business school’s presidential scholarship. This includes full tuition fees covered each semester. It is granted to 10 Norwegian students each year.
The guidelines given by the school:
“Awarded to students who possess an outstanding record of superior academic achievement, the BI Presidential Scholarship is open to Norwegian and international applicants. Write a scholarship application letter, maximum one-page, outlining why you are deserving of this scholarship and how your academic record qualifies you for consideration.”
I have attached my admission essay and my CV as additional background information. My academic record is:
15 A’s and 5 B’s. I have also taken upon 3 master’s subject last semester, which I scored A on all exams. This is crucial to highlight in the letter.
Additional information:
– Currently on my third year in a bachelors degree in Finance at BI.
– Applying for a MSc in Quantitative Finance.
– Currently admitted to the “Pathway to Quantitative Finance Programme” which is only given to students who excel in academia. This is a pathway to qualify for the prestigous Quantitative Finance master, which means I took 3 master subjects last semester. This masters degree is tailored for students with an undergraduate degree in math, statistics or physics. Exceptions are made for Finance students who excel in their field. I have made this exception. This should be highlighted.
– Very interested in quantitative subjects, such as math, statistics and programming.
– Learning assistant at BI. Quantitative subjects (math, statistics, finance etc). Also drop-in mentor and one-to-one learning assistant.
