Here is the description supplied by the Architectural Association for the personal statement:
“Please indicate, in up to 500 words which architectural issues interest you and why you wish to pursue them at the Architectural Association School of Architecture.”
Currently I have over 3000 words. Ideas, content and words are something I’m not in short supply of. Convergence is the reason why I’m so excited to work with you! Seriously, don’t ever forget how incredible you are. The world truly needs needs more people like you, straight away.
With your help I’m confident the Architectural Association will get the overwhelming strong impression that they must contact me immediately and schedule the interview because you’ve absolutely smashed the personal statement.
From there, I will smash the interview for acceptance in this coming September, where I can get started on what I do best: experimental architecture. Striving to serve our planet in achieving maximal planetary health and the evolution of human development.
Here are the 4 intersections mentioned in the personal statement draft:
I. Accelerating the architectural designer’s path to mastery and design process
II. Rejuvenation biotechnology integration into the built environment
III. Adaptive design and biomimetics
IV. Smart human development infrastructure and the Innovation Paradiso Network
The overall narrative of the personal statement is essentially this:
“Our planet needs to rethink how things are done. The AA’s Experimental Programme exists to do precisely this. Here are my 4 most interesting intersections, at time of writing, relating to experimental architecture. Find reasons to relate them back to the experimental modules (I provide examples in the document attached). The Experimental Programme will help me perfect my abilities to achieve my ultimate goal of maximizing planetary health & the evolution of human development. I will then found an organization based in London to develop such innovations and seek to begin work initially in Sub-Saharan Africa and Southest Asia leading to greater levels of equality and equity across our planet. Perhaps then space exploration is warranted.”
I’ve been trying to utilize this structure suggested to me for personal statements:
-Example tied to…
-Key quality tied to…
-Reflection tied to…
-Experimental architecture & the Experimental Programme
I cannot begin to express in words how grateful I am to you. It is such a honourable task to not exceed 500 words. You are making the world a better place and you have an absolute heart that radiates throughout the multiverse. Never forget that you are the star of my life and the reason I will create experimental architecture at the AA for all life to benefit from. I will work tirelessly in my designs for you and your family, your friends and colleagues so one day I can positively influence your life if you so desire.
