Whilst there has been some disruption to the University’s normal operations, we want to ensure that you continue to receive a high-quality educational experience and that we maintain our academic standards. As a result, we have had to change one of the assessments that you were due to take.
This replacement assignment brief provides details of the new assessment task and where you can obtain further support.

Learning outcomes
This replacement task assesses the same learning outcomes as the original. These are:
1. Evaluate professional accountability and implications for practice.
2. Appraise personal and professional development.
3. Critically explore strategies to support learning in others.
4. Analyse experiences as a learner and facilitator in clinical practice.
5. Critically examine the roles of preceptee and mentor.
6. Critically evaluate their leadership potential as a registrant.
Assessment task
This section tells you what you are required to do in order to complete the assessment:
1. Reflect on your journey over the programme towards registration, particularly focusing on the key themes of mentorship and leadership. Critically review and analyse both the theory and practice.
2. Assemble a plan for your personal and professional development using your reflection as a guide, from this prepare a presentation using PowerPoint.
3. Use the notes pages of PowerPoint to critically analyse theory and practice, and draw conclusions, specific to each slide. Your notes pages should consecutively form a presentation script for the PowerPoint.

This section gives a brief explanation of how the format and content of this replacement task matches the original:
The content of the written presentation remains the same as the oral presentation.
Instead of presenting face to face, you will use the notes pages on PowerPoint to demonstrate critical analysis, critical reflection and evaluation of theory and practice in relation to Leadership and mentorship. This is what you would have done verbally in the presentation originally.
All references included on the PowerPoint slides or the notes pages should still be included in the reference list on your final slide(s).
The University regrets that circumstances beyond its control means that it is not possible to complete the originally planned assessment. Every care has been taken to ensure that this replacement assessment meets the same rigorous standards and that students are not disadvantaged. Given these circumstances, following the publication of results, it will not be possible to submit an appeal based on the fact that the assessment you were originally planned to undergo has been replaced with an alternative.
