Combining the research paper with an outside source, this project consists of visiting a local (or if you’re traveling, a non-local works as well) art museum. while making your way through the museum, in the modern & contemporary section, you will choose a piece of art to photograph & study in-depth. you will photograph the work (following the museum’s restrictions & rules) in multiple angles (if applicable, primary for 3-dimensional works) & include these in your final paper. the paper length should be approximately 2 – 4 pages long, using a minimum of 2 academic sources (in addition to the museum). if you feel that the discussion of the work of art will not take up that many pages of writing, other potential add-ons can be talking more about the artist & their style / stylistic traits (refrain from making it a biography of the artist), more information about the period, etc. if you need help coming up with additional thoughts or topics if you don’t have enough information about the artwork, don’t hesitate to contact me & we can discuss it & find an additional intriguing topic for you to write about.
